I have always wanted to sit in a field in the rain, but I never have.  The constant flow of water, the sound of rolling thunder surrounding you.  It is beautiful; one of the moments that when you stop your complaining and look there are no words.  But Imake up material excuse like the temperature, or how my hair looks that day.  It is time to stop making excuses.  For everything, not just rain…..

Bad Timing

I dislike snow.  It is pretty for one day, then it turns brown and gross.  And it lasts FOREVER, one year it was still on the ground in the last week of April.  It is cold and wet.  But the one thing I have to look forward about snow is snow days.  It is like skipping school but without consequences.  I have been waiting since November for us to get the first giant snowstorm but it just never happened.  But of course tonight it is snowing like crazy, on a Friday so their is no school tomorrow.  By Monday all the roads will have been plowed and we will have to go to school.

High Douche Bags

I truly wish that schools were segregated between smart people and morons.  We get stuck interacting with these idiots who spend their lunch getting high, to the point where they can even articulate a topic when talking.  I have had this fantasy if you will of going to a school with only smart people for a while.  I mean imagine it; class discussion would actually teach you something, teachers could cover more topics because they wouldn’t have repeat themselves over and over for people who weren’t paying attention.  What made me start to think about this today was the experience I had on the bus ride home today.  Some kid bumped into another when walking down the buses aisle so they both started chirping each other about  how they wanted to punch each other out.  This continued for a while until one of them (lets call him josh) said stay the fuck away from Carly, to which the other (lets call him Kevin) replied who is Carly? Now normally I would take what Kevin said as a safety reflex trying to save himself from having to fight but josh started getting crazy saying that the whole fight was about Carly, his girlfriend, and that Kevin had tried to talked to her today.  Our bus driver noticed that a fight was about to break out  so she ordered josh to come sit at the front and stay facing forward the whole ride. We finally left the parking lot and were about halfway to the first stop when josh turned around and started yelling at Kevin about how as soon as he got off the bus he was going to punch him out.  The bus driver pulled the bus over and yelled at him again he apologized and told her he was just mad at Kevin because he had tattled on his friends (notice how the story keeps changing).  He faced the front again but continued to keep arguing with the bus driving the whole way home getting himself into more and more trouble.  This is just an example of the shit we have to put up with because we are forced to go the same school as people who have no intention of learning it needs to stop and the best way to do this is to segregate the high schools.

sweet sweet poetry

I’m going to keep this short and sweet.  I wrote this poem a while back based on a fantasy like mental image I have of people dressed in 1800th century clothes dancing.  I was talking about Sweeney Todd (one of the best movies ever made) today in 2nd period and it reminded me of this.

Rotting bones cease to lie still through night,

spirits within dance and move till suns dawn;

a graveyard becomes a ballroom floor

where partners spin and spin and turn and turn,

dresses and coattails cut throught the air like blades

an unearthly thing, slicing through reality;

Lady Gaga

I love Lady Gaga’s  music, which is unusual because I don’t really enjoy pop music that often.  Her songs like Born this way, You and I, and Speechless are amazing.  However she has a unique taste when it comes to music videos.  I don’t understand them.  With her favorite songs she turns the video into a story but does not explain the story.  For example in her music video Born this way, she begins with telling everyone that you need to protect all that is good but in order to do that you have use evil.  Meanwhile she is giving birth to heads and then pulls a machine gun out of her vagina.  I do not understand what that has to do with being yourself.  Next example her music video for You and I the video starts with creepy music as the visual switches between her walking and creepy clips like a topless guy experimenting on her, an ice cream man with horrible teeth serving old dolls instead of ice cream. Her song starts but the type of images doesn’t really change she is a mermaid for awhile, and the topless guy is still experimenting on her.  But there is also normal clips like her walking down a dirt road, wedding scenes, and her singing while playing the piano in the middle of a corn field however it changes from normal quickly when we discover that her alter ego Jo Calderone (she dresses up as him for the MTV music awards) is sitting on top of the piano and then starts making out with her (picture down below).  This music video just confused me, I really don’t know what was going on.  I could go through all of her music videos like this but the one I want to talk about is her new release Marry the night.  It is different then most music videos because the majority of it is a story, it looked like they had plucked it directly from a movie because it was so well done, but it was never explained, in fact I wish they would make it movie so I could understand what was going on.  It was beautiful and artistic I wish it really was a movie, but like me so many other failed to see how it related to the song part of the music video.  I really wish her video’s had more clarity, if she combined that with her artistic ability I think she would probably have some of the best music videos in the world.
